From hybrids and electric cars to 4x4s and classic vehicles, there’s nothing in the genre that London car photographer Dean Wright hasn’t seen before. We love how different his style is from what’s currently in vogue; rather than moody shadows, he uses a well recovered and retouched style that balanced both highlights and shadows for even lighting. Yet, his rich contrast and eye for reflections and lines give his work a captivating quality that’s unmistakably his. Dean also regularly uses interior shots and lifestyle settings to add to the sense of a “car story” on display!
Shooting for Bangkok's Premier Urban Resort, The Siam Hotel.
I was delighted to shoot some hotel photography for The Siam hotel in Bangkok, an urban luxury resort in the heart of the city. The hotel is spread over a large very green and lush art deco styled complex, nestled along the Chao River boasting it's own pier and private boat.
The main entrance and building of The Siam is full of open air courtyards, a lush marble lobby, and an esquisite collection of museum worthy antiques. You are greeted with a very warm welcome, in keeping with the exceptional level of service provided by the hotel's staff, which includes your very own personal butler. Once past reception, you are confronted with a breathtaking atrium housing eight large banana palms towering three stories high. The main hotel houses The Siam suites, beautifully presented rooms with more than generous proportions, double heighted ceilings and luxurious bathrooms. As well as two different suite types, you will find a retro cinema room, a library full of wonders, a gym with it's own boxing ring, Snooker and lots of hidden corners full of curiosities. The basement of the main building houses a large spa with every treatment you could ever want.
Outside you will find the Pool Houses, which are opulent self contained accommodation with their own court yard, roof terraces, and the most amazing bathrooms.
The riverfront hosts a long pool and the Bathers Bar with views out over the Chao River. Alongside stands the Chon Thai Restaurant, a Thai village styled complex of Thai teakwood houses with open air and hidden dinning areas. The Jazz inspired Deco Bar & Bistro boasts a large glass fronted restaurant with a truly spectacular balcony bar.
Dinning is a very civilised afair with traditional and contemporary Thai Cuisine on offer, beautifully presented, as well as a truly decadent western menu.
